Telli.sh: Every Translator has launched on the Chrome Web Store with free Google Translate mode, Chrome built-in on-device AI, and translation beside the original text.

The extension is a focused companion for people who spend time in multilingual social, chat, community, news, and web spaces. It shows the translation beside the original text, so you can read the meaning without losing the source context.
The default path is intentionally low-friction: users can start with the free Google Translate mode, without a paid translation subscription or a Telli.sh account. Chrome users can also choose Chrome Built-in AI on supported desktop versions, using Chrome's on-device translation model for a more private, model-based translation path when it is available.

Why we built it
Telli.sh is built around spoken work: meetings, lectures, interviews, and conversations that need to become reviewable notes. Telli.sh: Every Translator covers a faster surface: posts, chats, replies, comments, and web text that need to be understood or sent across languages while the conversation is happening.
Instead of turning a thread into a meeting note, Every Translator stays lightweight. It reads visible text on supported sites, shows translated text near the original, and gives users a compact panel for translating outgoing replies where posting is supported.
What the Chrome Web Store release supports
The Chrome Web Store release supports a much wider surface than a single chat app:
- social and messaging apps such as Discord, WhatsApp Web, Messenger, Telegram Web, Instagram DM, X/Twitter DM, Reddit, and Teams
- read-only inline translation for web surfaces such as Outlook on the web, GitHub, Stack Exchange, Bluesky, Wikipedia, YouTube, Discourse forums, Qiita, Zenn, Hatena Blog, note.com, Mastodon, and selected news or community sites
- outgoing translate-and-send flows on supported chat and comment surfaces, with an editable preview before sending
- four display modes: inline comment, bilingual original-plus-translation, click-to-expand, and original/translation toggle
- smart skipping for messages already in your language, emoji-only messages, bare URLs, and mentions
- 52 translation target languages, with the reading language defaulting to the browser or system language on fresh install
The release also includes several translation provider choices:
- Google Translate free mode for quick translation without a paid API setup
- Chrome Built-in AI on Chrome 138+ desktop, using on-device Gemini Nano translation after the first model download and falling back to Google Translate Free when unavailable
- DeepL Free API for high-quality translation with a user-provided key
- Google Cloud Translation API for users who already run it
- Google Apps Script for self-hosted translation routes
- Ollama for local AI translation on the user's own machine
- Anthropic Claude for context-aware translation with a user-provided API key
For LLM providers such as Claude and Ollama, Every Translator can also use preceding messages as translation context, which helps casual chat and community replies read more naturally.
Privacy model
Telli.sh: Every Translator does not send chat content to a Telli.sh server. Translation text goes only to the provider selected by the user in the extension settings. When Chrome Built-in AI is available, translation runs on-device. When Google Translate Free is selected, text is sent to Google's free translate endpoint. When Claude, DeepL, Google Cloud, Apps Script, or Ollama is selected, text is sent only to that configured provider.
API keys are stored in local extension storage, and non-secret preferences such as language choices and display mode are stored in Chrome extension storage. The extension does not collect developer-operated analytics or telemetry.

How it fits with Telli.sh
Telli.sh remains the workspace for audio-first notes, meeting transcription, live recording, multilingual notes, and summaries. Telli.sh: Every Translator is a browser extension for text-first translation across SNS, chat, communities, and the web.
They solve different parts of the same multilingual workflow:
- use Telli.sh when a meeting or recording needs a reviewable note
- use Every Translator when active web text, chats, posts, or replies need quick translation inside the browser
The shared direction is practical language tooling that stays close to where the conversation is already happening.
